Provide engineering design leadership, calculations, studies, detailed design, technical reports, field investigations, and quality review through all phases of on-shore pipeline engineering and design.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Project Engineers and/or Project Managers in the development and execution of a broad range of liquid and gas pipeline projects, including but not limited to high pressure transmission, gathering, and distribution pipelines.
- Ability to work without direction on all areas of pipeline design tasks such as, pipeline routing, right of way and workspace requirement development; studies on construction techniques, economic feasibility studies, front-end engineer efforts alignment sheet development, HDD design, road crossings, temporary work space, plats/sketches/deeds, non-environmental permitting, hydrostatic tests, etc.
- Interact with Project Managers, other engineers, mappers, designers, and drafters to manage assigned technical tasks through project completion.
- Responsible for the development of bend calculations, drill design, crossing designs, surface load calculations, pipe specifications, and overall project progress.
- Coordinate with field and third party (Environmental or Geotechnical or Survey) personnel.
- Reviews the discipline scope of work to be executed to ensure it matches project specification and/or the proposal documents as appropriate. Responsible for the technical content and quality of the work, and adherence to schedules and budgets for the assigned task or project.
- Responsible for reporting on work progress.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, or related discipline from an ABET accredited college/university required.
- Good knowledge of CFR 192 (ASME B31.8) and 195 (ASME B31.4).
- Familiarity with both CAD Mapping and GIS Mapping a plus but not required.
- Five plus years pipeline engineering experience.
- FE (EIT) or PE preferred.
- FERC and CO2 experience a plus, but not required.
