This is a mid-level position within the Project Management Group. Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of management, clients and staff.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
Be able to manage multiple small and mid-sized projects
- Assist with identifying fulfilling project documentation requirements and project close-out.
- Must make field walks, read project drawings, solve technical problems and manage project priorities.
- Individual may manage his/her own projects or function as coordinator to other PM's located in other offices with managing personnel.
- Monitor Engineering/Design discipline compliance with QA/QC procedures.
- Assist the PM/PE and the Engineering/Design leads with project man-loading forecasts.
- Coordinate with Clerical/Document Control and the PM/PE for timely distribution of Project Meeting Notes.
- Assemble project meeting packages and transmit to Clerical/Document Control for reproduction and distribution.
- Coordinate timely resolution of Action Items and be responsible for updating the Action item Log.
- Obtain project schedule updates from the Engineering/Design leads on their respective activities and deliverables.
- Obtain complete and accurate Discipline Status Reports from the Engineering/Design leads on the project.
- Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, financial objectives, budget and staffing for each phase of project, and procedures for accomplishing work, and allotment of available resources during various phases of the project.
- Coordinate project design development, obtaining client approvals and administering subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Manage and coordinate and quality effort for the project, utilizing safety and quality resources appropriately.
- Coordinate information and activities among estimating, financial and construction as well as subcontractors, vendors, client personnel and project superintendent, ensuring proper communication flow, utilizing project meetings, correspondence, and documentation as necessary.
- Prepare project status reports, including updated cost projections and schedules for project review and input to marketing, estimating, sales, management and customer.
- Identify changes in scope or differing conditions and secure appropriate change orders for project cost and time.
- Develop and maintain client relationships with the goal of repeat profitable business.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years direct Project Management experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Experience in up-stream facilities in oil & gas, the power generation (gas turbines or reciprocating engine generation), mid-stream oil & gas (compressor station, pump station, storage terminal, tank battery or LNG) or downstream oil, gas & chemical (refinery, petro-chemical or hydrogen) construction markets is strongly preferred.
- Three years or more total construction experience
- Strong knowledge of construction management systems including financial budget management, project forecasting, cost engineering, scheduling, job cost report analysis, estimating, and safety procedures.
- Detail-oriented, strong problem solving and analytical skills in evaluating situations.
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient with various PC software packages (MS Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe, Microsoft Project).
